The Italdesign one-box study that fathered the modern MPV
Designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro on the Lancia Gamma platform, the Megagamma was a compact near-one-box concept with a high seating position, tall glasshouse and flat, flexible cabin floor. Fiat deemed it too risky to build, but it proved hugely influential as the 'conceptual birth mother' of the MPV/minivan movement, presaging the Renault Espace and Chrysler minivans.
