Maserati Boomerang

Giugiaro's wedge that defined an era

The Boomerang was a one-off wedge-shaped coupe designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro at Italdesign, first shown as a non-running model in 1971 and as a functional car built on a Maserati Bora chassis in 1972. Its steering wheel wrapped around a fixed instrument cluster that emerged from the dashboard. Its extreme angular lines influenced numerous later Giugiaro production designs.
