A living-room-on-wheels autonomous electric vision car
Nio unveiled the EVE, a running autonomous electric concept, at SXSW in Austin in March 2017. Conceived as a 'digital companion' with a living-room-style five-seat 2/1/2 cabin, it centered on Nomi, the AI assistant that would learn each user's preferences, and a wrap-around augmented-reality display. Nio did not disclose motor or battery figures but claimed roughly 600 miles of range on a charge. The car could drive fully autonomously or be driven manually, and Nio targeted a production version around 2020.
