Nissan GT-R Proto (2005)
Concept car · 2005 · Combustion

The near-production preview of the R35 Godzilla.
The GT-R Proto was the second and final GT-R concept, and the one that directly previewed the production R35. Shown at the 2005 Tokyo Motor Show, its design was nearly identical to the car that would launch in 2007, with reworked front intakes, vented fenders and the GT-R's signature four ring-shaped tail lamps. Nissan gave no technical figures, stating only that the car 'would appear almost as is in 2007' -- which it did, with a twin-turbo V6 and all-wheel drive.
