Le Mans diesel-hybrid power beneath hand-beaten copper
Designed under Gilles Vidal, the Onyx paired the 3.7L diesel V8 from Peugeot's 908 Le Mans prototype with a HYbrid4 electric system for a combined 680 hp. Its most striking feature was bodywork hand-beaten from untreated copper, left to oxidise from mirror-bright to blue-green patina, contrasted against raw carbon fibre and a felt 'Newspaper Wood' interior.
