Adam LZ's DriftHQ BMW E36 at a Formula Drift Pro round

A Formula Drift Pro car whose entire build is published on YouTube as it happens. Adam LZ documented the chassis, the swap, the dyno tune and the season runs in real time, the paddock door pried open for the long-form audience.

Adam LZ started filming his cars in 2017 after a BMX career. The early channel was a Nissan 240SX missile car, an E46 wagon, a 350Z, each build documented for hours, the swaps explained, the failures left in. For a viewer who hadn't grown up at the track, that long-form was the syllabus.

By 2022 he had earned a Formula Drift Pro license; after a 2023 season sharing an RTR Mustang programme he moved to his own DriftHQ BMW E36 for 2024. The car is a turbo inline-six swap in the classic drift E36 shell, taken to Pro round wins in 2024 and 2025. What's different is that the build was filmed at every stage and shipped to a YouTube audience that watched the assembly the same week it happened.

The cultural function is gateway. A pro paddock previously hid its tuning; this car publishes the tune. The chain from amateur viewer to paddock licensee now runs visibly through this channel for a meaningful share of the modern grid.
