James Deane
Drift legend · Ireland / USA

Precision that feels inevitable.
A modern benchmark for repeatable angle, pressure and calm execution; the driver who makes extreme proximity look strangely tidy.
Deane grew up in County Wexford in Ireland and was competing in karting through his teens. He moved into drift competition in the late 2000s and took his first major title, the Prodrift Irish series, at fifteen. By twenty he had British titles and a European championship to his name. The discipline was already visible in his early footage: chase runs that look strangely calm, deliberate steering, no panic on entries.
He moved to Formula Drift in 2014 and adjusted upward from the European mixed-platform field to the American V8 series. His 2017 and 2018 back-to-back Pro Championships in the Worthouse Silvia S15 became the new template for "modern drift driving", precise, low-drama, lethal in tandems.
In 2022 he joined RTR Vehicles as their lead driver, taking the new Mustang RTR Spec 5-FD straight to the championship podium. He still trains at home in Ireland between FD rounds. The discipline that travels with him is the thing every modern pro learns to copy.
