Irish weather, European pressure, the Drift Masters home.

Twenty minutes from Dublin, a flat, deceptively fast 2.4 km circuit. For drift, it has been the home round of the Drift Masters European Championship, the calendar event where the entire European pro community shows up and the weather shows up too.

European drift has always run on smaller budgets, mixed platforms and grassroots energy compared to the American series. Mondello is the moment where that energy gets formalised: judges, broadcast, tandem brackets, full grandstands of Irish fans who treat the event like a national sport.

James Deane learned the trade here. Every modern continental pro has either competed at Mondello or planned to. When non-European fans say drift "scene", what they usually mean is a Saturday night at Mondello Park in a light rain.
