The Honda NSX (sold as Acura in North America) was a mid-engine sports car with an all-aluminium monocoque, launched in 1990 to challenge Ferrari with everyday usability. Ayrton Senna's feedback on a prototype led the team to raise its body rigidity targets, and the first generation used a mid-mounted VTEC V6. After a long hiatus, a second-generation hybrid NSX arrived in 2016 with a twin-turbo V6 and three electric motors, built in Ohio.
