An all-electric grand tourer that gave Genesis its performance vision
Revealed on March 28, 2018, the Essentia was Genesis's first battery-electric concept, a carbon-fiber-monocoque 2+2 GT coupe with butterfly doors. Its battery pack was arranged in an I-shape down the center tunnel rather than under the floor, allowing a super-low roofline of about 50 inches. Genesis quoted a 0-60 mph time of roughly 3.0 seconds from multiple electric motors but withheld exact battery and power figures. Finished in Stardust Gray Metallic, it framed the brand's future 'Athletic Elegance' performance direction.
