Lexus LF-FC (2015)
Concept car · 2015 · Hydrogen fuel cell

Lexus's first flagship hydrogen fuel-cell vision
The LF-FC was Lexus's first foray into hydrogen fuel-cell technology, a full-size flagship sedan concept previewing design direction for the next LS. Its high-output fuel-cell system drove the rear wheels while feeding two in-wheel front motors, enabling precise front-to-rear torque distribution. The fuel-cell stack sat at the rear, the power control unit at the front and the hydrogen tanks in a T-formation for near-ideal weight distribution. It also carried advanced autonomous-driving and gesture-control technology.
