Mazda Hakaze

A Nagare-flow crossover coupe with a removable roof

Shown at the 2007 Geneva Motor Show, the Hakaze was the third study in Mazda's Nagare design series and the second penned at the European Design Centre near Frankfurt. It blended the traits of a compact crossover, a hatchback and a roadster: a high seating position, a large glass area, no B-pillar and a two-piece glass roof that stows in the rear bumper. It was powered by Mazda's turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder driving through a six-speed automatic.
