Mazda Shinari

The concept that launched Kodo design

The Shinari debuted in 2010 as the first expression of Mazda's Kodo Soul of Motion design language, created under design director Ikuo Maeda. A four-door, four-seat sports coupe, its name refers to the resilient tension of steel or bamboo bent under force, an idea reflected in its taut, energetic surfaces. It set the styling direction for a generation of production Mazdas.
