A lightweight rear-drive coupe with a 3+1 seating twist
Shown at the 2006 Detroit auto show, the Kabura was a compact 2+2 sports coupe study built on a front-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout inspired by the MX-5. Its most distinctive idea was an asymmetric 3+1 seating package, using a single conventional door on the driver side and a smaller rear-hinged access door on the passenger side to open up rear space without enlarging the car. Power came from a 2.0-liter MZR four-cylinder driving the rear wheels through a six-speed manual.
