Porsche Carrera GT Concept

A Le Mans-derived V10 supercar that leapt from show stand to production.

Revealed to the press at the Louvre on 28 September 2000 and to the public at the Paris Motor Show, the Carrera GT Concept showcased a naturally aspirated V10 rooted in Porsche's abandoned Le Mans prototype programme. Two running concepts toured the European and North American show circuits. Strong public interest, aided by Cayenne revenue, prompted Porsche to build a road-legal version at its new Leipzig facility.
