An open-top design study built as Ferry Porsche's 80th-birthday gift.
Designed by Harm Lagaay with Steve Murkett under technical director Ulrich Bez, the Panamericana was presented at the 1989 Frankfurt Motor Show and given to Ferry Porsche on his 80th birthday. Built on a 911 (964) Carrera 4 Cabriolet chassis with plastic and carbon-fibre bodywork, it featured a streamlined roofline and a removable waterproof fabric top. Its styling influenced later Porsche design, including the 993 Targa and the Boxster.
