Burning hydrogen toward a green Le Mans
Unveiled by chairman Akio Toyoda at the Circuit de la Sarthe during the 2023 Le Mans 24 Hours, the GR H2 Racing Concept previewed a hydrogen-combustion prototype for the race's future hydrogen category. Rather than a fuel cell, it burns hydrogen in an internal-combustion engine paired with a hybrid system, building on Toyota's hydrogen Corolla Super Taikyu programme.
