Alfa Romeo B.A.T. 5

Bertone's aero study that hit 0.23 drag in 1953.

The first of Bertone's Berlina Aerodinamica Tecnica series, the B.A.T. 5 was designed by Franco Scaglione on an Alfa Romeo 1900 chassis as a pure aerodynamic experiment. Its sculpted, wind-cheating body achieved a remarkable drag coefficient of about 0.23, letting a ~100 hp engine reach 200 km/h. Scaglione shaped it to minimize airflow vortices along its enclosed, tapering flanks.
