Hyundai RN30

The high-performance concept that previewed the i30 N

The RN30 was Hyundai's first serious N-brand statement, a track-bred concept based on the new-generation i30 and developed with Hyundai Motorsport and the Hyundai Motor Europe Technical Center. It paired a heavily boosted 2.0-liter turbo four with a wet dual-clutch transmission and all-wheel drive, an electronic limited-slip differential, and a variable exhaust. Rather than carbon fiber, it used BASF-developed high-performance plastics to save weight, directly paving the way for the production i30 N hot hatch.
