Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR Strassenversion (1997)
Concept car · 1997 · Combustion

A GT1 racer barely disguised as a road car to satisfy the rulebook.
The CLK GTR Strassenversion (street version) existed to homologate Mercedes-AMG's dominant FIA GT1 racer for competition, which required a run of road-legal cars. Built by AMG, the road cars carried a naturally aspirated V12 in place of the racer's smaller unit and were once recognised as the most expensive production car in the world. Around 25-26 examples were produced, including a handful of roadsters.
