Mercedes-Benz Ocean Drive

A four-door, V12 luxury cabriolet reviving a nearly extinct genre.

The Ocean Drive concept revived the almost-forgotten idea of a full-size, four-door luxury convertible. Built on the long-wheelbase S 600 platform, it carried a twin-turbo V12, a fabric soft-top that folded in about 20 seconds, four-seat AIRSCARF neck heating and 21-inch wheels. Mercedes floated it as a possible production model, and while the Ocean Drive itself stayed a concept, its spirit later informed the S-Class Cabriolet.
