Rinspeed Snap

Electric skateboard chassis with swappable passenger pods

The Snap split a vehicle into two lifespans: a high-wear electric 'skateboard' chassis housing the drivetrain and electronics, topped by a long-life, swappable passenger pod that could be configured for shopping, camping, or commuting. The idea was to replace the fast-ageing chassis with newer hardware while keeping the pod. Around 30 companies contributed to the concept, which rode on a ZF electric platform.
