The world's first diveable car, inspired by James Bond
Rinspeed's sQuba was billed as the first car able to drive on land and submerge underwater, inspired by the Lotus Esprit from The Spy Who Loved Me. Based on a Lotus Elise chassis, the zero-emission electric concept used three motors, one for road driving and two for water, plus twin propellers and Seabob jets for underwater propulsion. Its open-top design let it flood on entering the water, with occupants breathing from an integrated compressed-air tank.
