Rolls-Royce Amethyst Droptail

A gem-inspired coachbuilt Droptail, one of four, themed around the amethyst.

The Amethyst Droptail is one of the four coachbuilt Rolls-Royce Droptail roadsters, commissioned by a patron whose family business grew from a gemstone boutique. Its exterior pairs a Globe Amaranth soft-purple body with a deep Amethyst upper coachwork, and the cabin features the largest single wood surface in Rolls-Royce history in open-pore Calamander Light, with rotary dials set with amethyst cabochons. The rear deck is described as the world's only aerodynamically functional wood surface on a road-going car.
