Giugiaro's glass-canopy grand tourer
A concept grand tourer shown at the 1989 Tokyo Motor Show, styled by Giorgetto Giugiaro of ItalDesign. Its signature was an 'aircraft-inspired glass-to-glass canopy' with the window-within-a-window glazing carried over from the earlier Alcyone/XT and extended across the A-pillars. The reception led Subaru to put it into production, with the road-going SVX launching two years later.
