An aircraft-inspired hybrid roadster
An open two-seat concept sports car (also called the B9SC) shown at the 2003 Tokyo Motor Show, styled with clear nods to Subaru's aircraft heritage, its nose evoking the cross-section of an airliner. It used a 2.0-litre flat-four hybrid system Subaru called the Sequential Series Hybrid Electric Vehicle (SSHEV): a 134 hp electric motor drove the car up to 80 km/h, after which a 138 hp petrol engine took over, with self-levelling air suspension and camera/radar driver aids.
