Toyota FT-86 Concept

The Hachiroku reborn -- the concept behind the GT86.

The FT-86 Concept previewed the affordable, driver-focused sports car that would become the Toyota GT86 (and Scion FR-S). A joint Toyota-Subaru project designed by Toyota's European ED2 studio, it embraced a long-nose, low-cowl classic sports coupe layout aimed at low weight and a low centre of gravity. Power came from Subaru's naturally aspirated 2.0-litre flat-four through a six-speed manual, reviving the spirit of the legendary AE86 'Hachiroku'.
