A smartphone on wheels
Unveiled at the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show and famously dubbed 'a smartphone on wheels' by Toyota president Akio Toyoda, the Fun-Vii uses its entire body as a reconfigurable display. Owners can change the exterior colour and content, or the interior theme, as easily as downloading an app. The name stands for Vehicle, Interactive, Internet. Augmented-reality navigation is blended into the interior, a voice 'navigation concierge' guides passengers, and the car links with surrounding vehicles and infrastructure to warn of hazards.
