Marc Newson's toy-like box that aged into a design classic
Designed by industrial designer Marc Newson and built by Ghia, the 021C won Best Concept Car at the 1999 Tokyo Motor Show. Named for Newson's favorite Pantone orange (and '21st Century'), it featured suicide doors, a slide-out drawer boot, swiveling front seats and a height-adjustable jewel-like dashboard. Panned at debut, it was later reappraised as ahead of its time.
