Ford Shelby GR-1 concept (2005)
Concept car · 2005 · Combustion

A polished-aluminium fastback with a V10 heart.
The Shelby GR-1 fastback was revealed as a fully functional concept, its muscular body left as bare, hand-polished aluminium. Under the long hood sat a 6.4-litre all-aluminium prototype V10 making 605 hp and 501 lb-ft, driving a rear-mounted six-speed transaxle shared with the Ford GT. Much of its chassis was carried over from the 2004 Shelby Cobra concept, and its butterfly doors sat flush for aerodynamic cleanliness.
