Ford Forty-Nine

Chip Foose's retro-futurist tribute to the 1949 Ford.

Designed by Chip Foose under J Mays, the Forty-Nine reimagined the landmark 1949 Ford as a smooth, velvet-black coupe. It dropped the original's bullet nose and hidden the wipers for a clean surface, riding on polished 20-inch wheels with a full-length glass roof. Power came from a 3.9-litre DOHC V8 -- 239 cubic inches, deliberately matching the 1949 model's displacement. Ford hinted it could be production-ready, but it never reached showrooms.
