Eliasson Art Car: BMW x Eliasson, 2007
Artist collaboration · with Eliasson · 2007 · Hydrogen fuel cell
Olafur Eliasson's stripped, ice-encased hydrogen racer - Your mobile expectations.
Danish-Icelandic artist Olafur Eliasson did not paint his Art Car but reconceived it entirely. He stripped the body from a hydrogen-powered H2R record car, wrapped the frame in a lattice of steel and reflective mesh, and sprayed it with layers of water that froze into ice. Titled Your mobile expectations: BMW H2R project, it was shown in a refrigerated chamber and questions the car as an object.
