Julie Mehretu's dense abstract layers on the M Hybrid V8 Le Mans racer.
Ethiopian-American artist Julie Mehretu created the 20th BMW Art Car on the M Hybrid V8 Le Mans Hypercar, layering photographs of her own paintings, dot-screen textures and gestural marks into a dense, map-like abstraction. The car raced at the 2024 24 Hours of Le Mans wearing number 20. It is the first Art Car built on a hybrid prototype.
