A four-door, CNG-fueled muscle sedan reviving the Charger name
The 1999 Charger R/T concept reimagined the muscle icon as a four-door sedan drawing cues from the second-generation 1960s Charger. Unusually, it ran on compressed natural gas: a supercharged 4.7 L V8 made 325 hp and 320 lb-ft through a five-speed manual, clean enough to meet California's ULEV standard. Lighter and shorter than the original, it hinted at Dodge's later performance-sedan direction.
