A driverless electric room on wheels
The 360c was Volvo's vision of a fully autonomous, fully electric future with no steering wheel or driver. Freed from the constraints of a combustion engine and manual controls, it reimagined the interior as four possible environments, a sleeping space, a mobile office, a living room and an entertainment lounge, and proposed a global standard for how driverless cars communicate their intentions to other road users. Volvo pitched it as a rival to short-haul air travel for inter-city trips up to 300 km.
